It's funny thinking about favorite holidays. There are certain holidays that I just love to celebrate, but there are other holidays that I love to celebrate and I LOVE to teach. Thanksgiving is one of those holidays. I do teach the brief history of Thanksgiving throughout the month, but more so, I give the students opportunities to show appreciation as often as possible. This is something that many students already do and already do well. I love growing their scope of gratitude and their understanding of just how fortunate we are.
Some of my favorite "thankful leaves" that students have filled out so far are:
- Music
- School
- Family
- Mrs. Ortis and her weekly help in our classroom
- Books
- Health
- Gymnastics
- Electricity
- Ipads
*Disclaimer: I took this photo a few days ago. You should see how many thankful leaves our tree has now!
