Adding details to a story is really hard to do sometimes. Lucky for us (in this situation), talking with our classmates is not!
When we plan our writing, we start by sketching quick pictures to help us remember what words will go on each page. Then once our story is planned, we can start the actual writing. Today we started planning new stories so the first thing we did was sketch out each page. After that was done, we met with a partner to talk about each page of our story. Then our partner asked us questions such as:
Who was in your story?
Where did it take place?
When was it?
How did you feel?
Why did you do that?
Through conversation and question asking, we thought of all kinds of details that we can add to our stories tomorrow.
